The dedication of the mural at the Alpine Library.

Historic Alpine, Inc. was awarded a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts for $1795.00. This grant was for the murals project to create two new murals and for redoing one of the old murals here in Alpine. The first mural done was for the Alpine Library and the picture shows the dedication of the mural. The second mural actually turned into six separate panels done by children from the Alpine Junior High School for the Alpine Recreation building. Each panel depicts an activity done in the Recreation building. The mural at the Crystal Bar was done over fifteen years ago and is now re-done and the quality of the painting is fantastic. As a result of this effort several more murals are planned in Alpine.
