The dog days of summer are approaching and downtown Alpine merchants and others are planning a cool Fiesta del Sol
in June to counter the heat. More than 30 businesses and other entities
can be expected to take part in the solstice event.
Kick-off (Friday evening):
Live music.
Saturday Activities:
Activities usually include a parade at 11 a.m., festivities, galleries, businesses
and live music with Taste of Big Bend and Fiesta del Sol Marketplace
throughout the day. There are arts, crafts and
vendors in the center of town and a Kiddie Korner with
activities for children at Railroad Park. Taste of Big Bend usually
features restaurants from the tri-county area and live
music throughout the day.
Fiesta del Sol is a summer festival
for hometown customers and for special out-of-town visitors, to let them know how much we appreciate them year-round. "It's a great big 'thank-you' party!
